About GenomEats
GenomEats turns a small number of well-studied genetic variants into practical advice about food and drink, using the raw DNA file people already have from consumer tests. It runs on your phone so that your genome never leaves it.
Editorial standards
- Only established links. A trait is included only when a variant has a clear mechanism connecting it to a food or nutrient, the effect has been reproduced or is supported by clinical guidance, and consumer chips measure it reliably. See what we leave out and why.
- Primary sources. Every science page cites peer-reviewed research, clinical guidelines or government health agencies, and links to them.
- Limits stated plainly. Each page explains what a result cannot tell you, including where accuracy drops for some ancestries.
- Dated corrections. When a page changes, its update date changes with it.
Not medical advice
GenomEats is educational. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any disease. Genetic results for celiac disease and hereditary hemochromatosis in particular should be discussed with a qualified clinician, who can order the appropriate tests.
